Dato’ Sr. Dr. Muhamad Farid bin Saad
Quantity surveyor by training and a state assemblyman for fifteen years. Chairman of Kumpulan NL and President of the Penang Muslim Entrepreneurs Association.
He began his career as the owner of a quantity surveying consultancy at the age of 27, expanding it to three branches before moving into public service, where he served as an elected representative for fifteen years. He was subsequently appointed a Board Member of PERDA and JKPSB, and Chairman of Mutiara Smart Computing, a company under the Ministry of Finance.
He led the Entrepreneur Focus Group under the Penang Bumiputera Development Council for ten years. He continues to serve as President of the Penang Muslim Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of the Penang Malay Think Tank (Badan Pemikir Melayu Pulau) and Chairman of Kumpulan NL.
He contributed to the Penang Bumiputera Entrepreneur Development Master Plan (2023–2030) and is the author of Kemelut dan Kepimpinan Melayu Pulau Pinang.
Mohd Nasri bin Adnan
In logistics since 1989 and a business owner since 2007. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (2025).
Group Managing Director of the NL group, including NL Logistics Sdn Bhd and affiliated entities in logistics, distribution, international trading, general contracting and transportation. He has been in the logistics industry since 1989 and a business owner since 2007. He is also a Director of PT New Leverage Malindo Jaya, the group’s Indonesian logistics company in Medan.
He holds a Diploma in Business Management (ITAR), a Certificate in Business Administration from Universiti Sains Malaysia (1993) and a BFMFF Certificate in Freight Forwarding (1995). He was awarded Fellow of CILT in 2025, named National TVET Award Winner 2024 in Logistics, and received the TVETec Malaysia Special Award as Master Coach in 2024 and Grand Master Coach in 2025.
He serves in leadership roles within the Penang Muslim Entrepreneurs Association and has contributed to state-level economic and trade committees, including the Penang International Halal Hub Steering Committee and the Penang State EXCO Trade & Commerce Working Committee. He has also taken part in international trade delegations to Indonesia, particularly North Sumatra and Aceh.
Hj. Baharudin bin Kamarudin
Twenty-five years of project logistics in oil and gas, semiconductor, solar and power.
A project logistics management professional with over twenty-five years in oil and gas — upstream and downstream — semiconductor, solar manufacturing, power plant and heavy industrial sectors. His work covers heavy lift and oversized cargo, vessel chartering, land, sea and air transport, customs clearance and high-value supply chain management.
He has been directly involved in projects with Technip Energies, Shell, Chevron and Petronas, including power plants, gas pipelines, methanol plants and semiconductor and solar manufacturing projects across Malaysia and the wider Asian region, with port and cross-border experience through Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei.
He served as Chairman of the Schenker Halal Logistics Blueprint Committee, leading the initiative through to JAKIM approval.
